I read once a long time ago that, when asked his favourite thing that anyone had said to him about his books, Sendak said he loved it when children would say to him, 'I'll eat you up!' Their mothers would be apologising for them. He said this was the best response he could possibly want.
I think Where The Wild Things Are was the first book I ever read on my own. R.I.P Maurice. My childhood would not have been complete without you. No childhood should be.
