'The Snowboy' on Peony Moon

Speaking of what it says on the tin, Michelle McGrane's excellent blog of featured poets, Peony Moon, has just put up two poems from The Snowboy. I hope you enjoy them.

Skate and Samphire: A Trailer for 'The Snowboy'

Andrew Philip has this morning foretold the coming of The Snowboy on his blog, with a very imaginative approach: a cento consisting of lines from the pamphlet. He also mentions that I'm going to be answering some questions on his blog -- about the pamphlet, poetry, disability and faith -- which I'm really looking forward to. That interview should, with any luck, happen in August, and will be just one of the blogs and online venues I'll be visiting to talk about The Snowboy, poetry, and whatever people feel like asking me, from now until (probably) October. More on that, and the pamphlet itself, very soon.

Naming the Best

I'm rather bouncing off the walls, after seeing the full contents of the forthcoming Salt Publishing anthology, The Best British Poetry 2011. It's the first in a series which will present the best new and emerging poets from the UK. My extra glee (can I use that word, with its current TV baggage?) is down to the fact that my poem 'Twelve Steps Towards Better Despair', first published in Magma 48 and also in my forthcoming pamphlet The Snowboy, is included. The anthology is due for mid-September, and it looks like Roddy Lumsden has done a fine job. A definite must have, and I'm proud to be in such fantastic company.
